Install

Tilda is one app. Install it, grant it the access your agents need, and connect your browsers.

Download#

Get Tilda from the download page. It’s a disk image, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, for macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon. Open the disk image and drag Tilda to Applications.

Open Tilda#

Open Tilda from Applications. It shows in the Dock and in the menu bar. Closing its window leaves it running; its Dock icon and its menu bar item open the window again.

To have Tilda ready after you restart, open Settings from the toolbar and turn on Open Tilda at login.

Allow Accessibility and Screen Recording#

Agents use Mac apps through Tilda, so Tilda holds the permissions and agents don’t need their own. Under Computer Use in Tilda’s window, choose Allow… next to each permission, or Open settings to grant it in System Settings:

  • Accessibility lets agents read and act on the apps you point them at.

  • Screen Recording lets agents see the windows of those apps.

You can skip both if you only want your agents to use the browser, MCP servers, and terminals.

Connect your browsers#

  1. Under Browsers, choose Register with browsers. Tilda writes a native-messaging manifest into every Chromium browser that has run on this Mac, so the Tilda extension can reach the app. Register again after you install another browser.

  2. Choose Reveal extension. Tilda shows its extension folder in Finder. Until the extension is on the Chrome Web Store, load that folder unpacked: open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and pick the folder.

  3. The extension connects by itself, and your browser appears under Browsers as connected. If it doesn’t, open the extension’s popup and choose Connect.

If Tilda says macOS blocked a browser, give Tilda Full Disk Access: choose Open settings in that row, turn Tilda on under Full Disk Access, and choose Register with browsers again. macOS 27 keeps apps without Full Disk Access out of the data folders of Chrome, Edge, and Brave, where the manifest goes.

Install tmux for terminals#

Agents run dev servers, REPLs, and other interactive programs under tmux. Install tmux 3.5 or later:

brew install tmux

Add MCP servers#

This step is optional. Add the MCP servers you want every agent to share in Tilda’s Settings; MCP servers walks through it.

Then connect your agent. Tilda does it for Claude Code, OpenCode, and Grok.
